Malossi's experts have created a clutch system that meets the needs of high-powered builds, designed for engines generating up to 25 hp and beyond, with the following features:

• clutch hub made of special alloy steel, CNC machined
• newly designed spring
• equipped with 4 drive plates
• “Smalley” type retaining ring

Thanks to these features, our complete Power UP Clutch System easily transmits up to 25 hp, all while keeping lever effort manageable and requiring no modifications. It’s compatible with both the original and Malossi clutch bells.

Direct power, guaranteed fun

The Nickel-Chromium-Molybdenum steel used for the clutch hub provides exceptional mechanical strength and durability. What does this mean? Regular hubs under centrifugal force and spring load tend to deform; with our special alloy steel hub, this doesn’t happen.

To manage high power while keeping lever effort reasonable, we opted for a 4-drive plate kit rather than the original 3, increasing transmissible torque without needing excessively stiff springs. Although 4-drive plate kits generally experience slight drag when idle, we eliminated this minor issue in the Malossi Vespa Smallframe clutch.

Another highlight is the “Smalley” type retaining ring, with a uniform internal microstructure and flawless outer surface, free from cavities, burrs, cracks, or other imperfections, ensuring even load distribution. The “Smalley” ring, a spiral design used in military and aerospace applications, is a cutting-edge addition.
